I filled out the FAFSA already for myself. I was pissed, I fall into that crappy area where you make too much money to get any help and not anywhere near enough to be able to cover it without borrowing. :(

The FAFSA is the next hurdle.... But at least with that, I'll have more time to get that completed

While your situation does suck and I feel your pain I dont understand why ERAU wont allow you to transfer till the semester ends. I would think that you could apply for the the particular semester and just differ it. If you keep getting the run around, maybe its time to go higher than the admissions office. A couple semesters ago I had a problem with TA and the admisssions office wanted to drop me from my classes. After they wouldn't help me I simply asked to talk to the Dean. I persisted and eventually talked to her. She understood my situation and everything was settled. My point being is that if you find yourself going in circles and your situation is valid (which it is) put your case before the Dean. He/She has the ultimate authority.

Thanks, That will be my next step.
I spoke with Glenda Jarrett's assistant Pat and I faxed her directly my intra-university transfer copy that I had.
My Medical is taking a while as well, You would think that since I have to send an annual short form flight phys that if would be quicker. NOMI is notorius for going slow. I had a medical issue a few years back that grounded me, and it took 6 months (no lie) for the grounding papers, and almost 3 months to get back up. They are back logged with stuff down there.

Hopefully the ERAU issues will be resolved quickly. I heard from Ed Straten that my degree plan was fine, now we are just awaiting the acceptance letter from the school that I am currently attending...... Yeah, that sounds about as messed up as it is!

I don't want to sound like a downer, I'm usually a pretty cheerful guy. Like many of us, I cannot stand getting the run around over something stupid and benign as an acceptance letter from the school I am currently attending and have been for the past 2 1/2 years!

I e-mailed Ed Straten today and asked about the process of getting orders and such for PCS planning purposes. This was his response and I found it helpful about the whole process, so maybe it will help you guys too...

"After you are physically qualified and turned in a official degree plan and acceptance letter, we send a request to BUPERS and they will cut and issue orders at the appropriate time. So the sooner everything is in and correct, the sooner we will put in a request to BUPERS." -Ed

So all I am waiting on now is my physical stuff to clear. NOMI has had it since 19Oct.. so we will see what happens from here. Hopefully they do not take to long.

I'm happy to hear that you guys are not having the issues I am having in regards to the acceptance letters. Its difficult to not let that irritate me. There is solice in knowing that not all colleges are as difficult as ERAU.

Degree Plan- Recieved
Physical Awaiting NOMI and BUMED, but should be any day approved
Acceptance letter.....Grrrrrrrrrr

I'm now applying to a few other aviation colleges, including Hampton University. I cannot keep waiting on these people at ERAU.

I went out an bought some scotch tonight, I had a test this evening and I am celebrating!

Success!

I just got off the phone with Ms. Glenda Jarrett, she said that myself and three other people in this predicament have had the IUT sitting on the next step, and that we should all have an email on Monday of the official acceptance letter!!

She was not apologetic, but basically stated that she understood that the military was requiring these documents sooner than later!

Another update for my personal status, I've spoken and also put in an application to Hampton University, which is about a quarter of the cost of ERAU. If that works out better academically, and since they have been very easy-going thus far, I may not be heading down to DB after all!

Ok, I finally finished my complete flight physical (I passed thank god!!) and I scanned and emailed all of the forms off to STA-21, so I should be good to go now!!

Where's my beer Ryan?

Anyone else look at Hampton University as a viable ODU alternative?

Hampton is a good choice, but it still is a private university and very expensive as far as tuition goes. Looking at about $20,000 per year. $10K out of pocket isn't an option. State school's are where it's at.
