I will be driving from California... Would anyone be interested in "Caravaning" to P-Cola? I will be leaving Cali June 18th.

Also, does anyone have any advise on what a female should and/or should not bring to OCS? All the people I have spoke to are mala and have no clue from the female perspective. Please advise.

Check out the OCS website's FAQ at http://www.nsgreatlakes.navy.mil/otcp/ for more info on what to bring/not bring. The females that were in my class had the same stuff as the males, with exception to the toiletries that they needed. The other big thing to remember is to bring a swim suit for the 3rd class swim qual as they will not issue a suit for females. Good luck!

Count me in! Got my orders and I'll be joining you all for this class date. I'm planning on driving down a few days early to explore the area and the beach!

NFO. I wanted SNA. My recruiter told me I can still get SNA through NFO-to-SNA. Two guys from my recruiters district that went in NFO just got picked up for SNA.

*Rumor alert*

anybody else hear that this class and the June 30th class are shortened as they're planning on testing out the new RI OCS curriculum with us? Heard this from my Captain, but like anything else it may not hold much weight :)

I heard from my Lt. that they were considering sending the last classes to RI towards the end to train in the new guys. If the rumor you are starting is true I will be happy, unless somehow it gets worse...

I had heard that we will not be moved, and that our class experience will be unique because we won't have underclasses to train once we reach the candio stage.

So would my class be Candi-O's to your class, even though we are only a couple weeks senior, or would that Candi-O's to your class be a class ahead of mine? I guess my point is, WTF will I be doing come week 9/10, since there are two classes after mine.

H Class...?

I get the impression that the people running OCS do not know exactly what is going on yet with the last classes. Just enjoy the summer.

When you're a candi-o, you're candi-o to all classes. You're basically an extension of the staff...higher than the piece of shit candidates beneath you, but not quite on the level of the staff, because you still live in a crappy room in the basements of one of the battalions or the 2nd floor of regiment.

Trust me, once you set foot in Pensacola and check in, the last thing you'll be thinking is "Hey, what's going on with our Candi-o phase?"

The staff will figure out something for you to do once you become candios. I'm sure the Batts will be ready for a good scrub down in time for the move, which is definitely not below the level of a Candidate Officer. Anyway, stop worrying about it. OCS is annoying, but not overly hard, and candio phase is just another stepping stone to your commission. Focus on getting in shape. It's gonna be hot and nasty when you report.

I was hoping that some of us could meet up the night before we check in so that we can get to know each other better and such. PM me or reply to this post if any of you are interested.

Nugget81, thanks for the link:)

Quick Question... What is our class # so I can let my family and friends know. Everyone here at home, and not at home, have been asking for it and the OCS website states the address, but we apparently also need our class #. Please advise.

Thanks!

I have a friend reporting to OCS on 9 June and he told me his class was 18-07, which would make our class 19-07. I haven't been able to verify this though.
