I was not amused when I saw a “SF” patch on a NARP and realized it means security forces…
Don't even get me started on how y'all pronounce "buoys".
Even more amusing is when the SecFo mall cops tell you that they're basically the grunts of the Air Force.
(Edit: they really hate it when you call them SecFo)
I’ll give credit where it’s due, some of the AF security forces dudes have done legit stuff and are badass.
That said, I’ve dealt with more than a handful that consider themselves AF ‘infantry’. ?
Some SecFo dudes gave me and my wingman a hard time after landing at Nellis for an exercise because we didn’t have passenger manifests.

Riding on the open ammo bay door is something Cobras have done since Vietnam. But in Desert Storm some crews bivouacked with the aircraft and stored all their field comfort goodies, tent, sleeping bag etc. in the ammo bay. Putting a guy on the open ammo bay door risked losing all your stuff. Army pilots in my AAHF Chapter said that in Desert Storm they tied large ropes on the Cobra TOW launchers. It was for quick evac. Straddle the tow launcher and hold on to the rope. I have yet to find a picture of the ropes attached, but it was said some units routinely flew with them just in case.Apache pilots save critically-wounded Soldier with unorthodox evacuation

As I recall the side door on the cobra (ammo door I guess) was purpose built as an emergency rescue seat.
