Ok all, PLEASE don't ream me but I need some reassurance.
Was Pro-Rec for Intel from Aug Boards on SEP 4. Still do not have Final Select.
I know that it takes time and everyone is different. I know that the Navy is hurry up and wait(Currently enlisted) and I know that minus getting arrested or not qualifying physically I am good to go, and just need to be patient and do what my recruiter needs.
Being already enlisted, most of my stuff was already done. Clearance, medical, PRT's....all good to go. Well I am now messing around with Vision. Apparantly with my left eye being 20/25 I am being told I have to get it corrected to 20/20 which of course now means I have to go to the eye doc and actually get corrective lenses....Ok, that's fine. I will do what I need to do to make this happen.
My concern is that the soonest I can get in is Jan 8. This will now put me almost 5 months out from getting my Pro-Rec.
I have asked my recruiter, looking for assurance, that this is all fine with me and my selection, so long as I keep moving forward and doing what they need that I'll be fine and eventually get my Final Select. He just told me, "you should still be good to go" when I expressed this concern to him and told him my appt is set for Jan 8. That's reassuring....*note sarcasm!
Again, I know it takes time, I know that every case is different. And I know that minus getting thrown in jail I should be good to go.
I guess my concern is, if any of you know or have heard of it taking this long to get it, for someone who is already Enlisted. And is there a time limit, meaning if you don't get it together within, example 6 months, you lose your spot.
Fire away......Tell me to shut up and go get a drink....or tell me something you might know that could possibly help.
Either way, Happy Friday all!!
