Viewing and staying logged into AW using Apple iphone??

I tried to search a few areas of the forum before I posted this question and could not seem to find anything. If there is a thread covering this topic, pointing me in it's direction would be greatly appreciated.

I usually check it at AW along with a couple other Naval aviation related forums to get my fix a few times a day. I'm using the Apple 3GS iphone and always have to re-enter my login and password to log in. Is there a setting I'm missing on the phone that will allow it to save my user id and password for frequently visited sites or do I need to use a separate app?

Thanks for any help or direction you can give me.

I use tapatalk for iPhone. I never have to relog-in. Try that (it's a free app).

Thanks for the prompt response. I'll give the app a try. Just wanted to make sure I was not missing some auto-fill setting on the phone for saving ID's and passwords. Again, thanks for your time.

I have the iTouch. The tapatalk app for my never worked quite right on my Touch; though I am assuming operator error on that one.

I just leave AW pulled up in one of the Safari pages. I usually have noaa.gov and AW always up in Safari. (Work gets boring sometimes) Unless I clear the history I never have to re-sign in to AW.

Though I would assume HD's answer was more what you were looking for.

Couple issues here:

1. Yes, Safari can and will save certain usernames and passwords for web sites; it depends on the way the web site accepts credentials. In order for this to work, AutoFill must be turned on for Names and Passwords in Settings -> Safari -> AutoFill.

2. ...however, the issue is probably related to Cookies. You must have Settings -> Safari set to Accept Cookies at least "From visited [sites]". Then when you log in to AW and tell it to "remember me", it should remember your session next time you visit.

Quick search of the app store looking for Tapatalk I found one that cost $2.99. Built by Quoord System Limited and has a logo that looks like a sheet of paper with " on it, surrounded by multiple colored balls...

Is this the app you are talking about?

If it is, it doesn't look like its free anymore :(

Yep. That's it. On second thought, I don't really remember if it was truly "free" or just cheap. I don't have any expensive apps, so the cheap=free price analysis isn't all that accurate.

It works pretty well, though. Posting this from it now.

I bought tapatalk for $2.99 for the HTC Evo I have. Great app, well worth the cost. Its less than a beer and much more useful. Spend the 3 bucks and run with it. The interface is a lot easier for browsing, replying, etc.

Bought tapatalk but wasn't super impressed with it. The regular interface with the iPhone 4's horsepower seems to work decently.

It took some getting used to for me. Using the regular site on Safari on my 3GS gave me a headache.

I like the tapatalk version better now.
