Used boots- bad?

I want to bring a pair of boots I´ve worn in and gotten used to, but I´m wondering if it´s ok to get a used pair? Just ´cause I can get a pair of Belleville´s dirt cheap on ebay, it´s almost a ´why not´kind of question.

I looked up the other threads on boots, but nothing as to whether one should only buy new, or if used is acceptable.

i havent had used boots before but here is my two cents
When you buy new boots, you wear them to break them in, both in the bend at the toe and the padding for your foot so it kind of outlines you foot. If you buy old used boots, they have been broken in already and will be very hard to re-mold to your foot specs.
this is if you want to have a nice feeling boot but if you dont, then go ahead.
