Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Appropriations Committee released the Fiscal Year 2025 bill for the Defense Subcommittee. The bill will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow, June 5th at 8:00 a.m. The markup will be closed.

For whatever reason, the Air Force has not gotten its way with Congress when trying to retire or shed itself of the A-10 and now perhaps U-2, while the Navy is finding some “success” sunsetting or sidelining the LCS, Mark VI, Cyclone-class, and Tico-class.

The A-10 really needs to go to the boneyard though. The A-10 lore is becoming worse than the F-14 lore. It's an airplane I'd love to fly and take to the range, but not to combat.
