i've herd that after college, the military (specificly Navy) will help pay back your student loans up to $75,000?!? i was told this from a friend that's a prior enlistment. I wanted to see if n e one could confirm this, and if it is true, if it applies to NROTC students as well?

My husband and I have been looking for that, we haven't found anything like that. I have heard that there are programs similar, but it needs to be in a part of your contract. If you go to a recruiter ask about it, and don't sign unless it is spelled out in there!!

It is up to $65,000 over 3 years. It is taxed as income. Has to be your first enlistment and the loan cannot be in default. They will pay 1/3 of your total loan up to $65,000 (not including interest, etc.) at the end of every year you serve. If you can find it online the document concerning it is in COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 1130.8F CH-16 from 10 APR 03.
