OCS JAN12th
Ok so here I am getting "tuition assistance debt" withdrawn from my pay. Does anyone know how to go about correcting this?
Before everyone says that this should have been corrected before it got to this point, both myself and my YNC have tried.
The command has received numerous letters of indebtedness regarding 2 courses I withdrew from due to TAD orders. I was living out of a tent for 3 weeks of an 8 week course so I had no chance of completion. To make a long story short, the paperwork from my command has been sent in stating that I was withdrawn due to involuntary orders many times. I personally have faxed and snail mailed them in assuming there was a disconnect in my admin department. Needless to say, I no longer feel the disconnect is on our end. This past month I looked at my LES and saw the deduction and was floored.
I have also emailed the listed address on the navy college center website and not received a response. My YNC said since it is being deducted he no longer can do anything about it. I feel that the Navy is not trying to correct this issue and I do not know what steps to take next. Monday I am going to speak with my YNC and see if the CO or legal officer should be the next step. It seems Pensacola just wants to keep their hands in my pockets.
Anybody ever run into this issue before? I really just wanted to blow off steam as well. Lucky for me the command knows this is not my fault cause I am also picking up my CO's recommendation Monday.
