transitioning to jets

I'm heading to helo land here in a week or two and looking forward to it, but I still have that desire to fly jets. I have heard that it is possible to transition to jets latter on. I have a little info on the process, but not much. Does anyone know where to get info on this. thanks

I'm not to sure where to find the information on a community transfer however I can tell you that at VT-9, the intermediate jet squadron in Meridian we had a navy Sh-60 pilot, an E-6 pilot, and more than a handful of P-3 pilots instructing up there. Maybe you could try to get in touch with them... just my proverbial two cents...

Hey shooter,
It is possible to transition to jets from helos but it is all about timing. You have to keep watching your message traffic and keep in proactive contact with your detailer about your desires. I have personally trained a about 8 helo to jet trans. Initially, they transition to fly EA6B's but some actually got orders to fly an older, dated aircraft like F14A's. They didn't seem to upset with flying those sluggish Tomkitty's. If you have the desire you can get there just keep pressing. Semper Fi! Frumby
