I'm currently an Ensign waiting to go down to Pensacola (my report date is 01MAY05.) I was wondering if anyone would happen to have any gouge on if they will still be allowing SNAs to make a transition to the Marines. From what I've heard, only a couple of people have taken it. I'm in YG 05, so supposedly the Navy crunch isn't supposed to affect me as much, but I was just wondering if anyone happens to know whether or not the Marine transfer will still be an option. Thanks in advance.

I read that the Marines were looking to get or accept around 100 transfers. Far fewer navy personnel were interested so the IST will probably be back

my understanding is that they are wanting people further along in flight school, since they need peopl RIGHT NOW, not in another 2-3 yrs.

I know a couple of my buddies who just completed API not too long ago were offered. One was offered a gauranteed Cobra seat, but he turned it down. Anyway, thanks for the responses. I'm sure, like everything, it'll be a week by week thing.
