Does anybody know about the requirements for TPS (test pilot school) or about transitioning to another community?

I know you have to have a technical degree (BS or MS), As far as transitioning, you can try after your first sea tour.

keep in mind you need to start the paperwork on that as soon as possible in your first sea tour. that said, most skippers won't even look at/consider it unless you are completely qualified in your current aircraft and are the #1 guy. so if you really really wannit, qualify early

i also had two prior helicopter pilots as T-34 instructors in primary who got transitions to other communities out of that tour.

besides? who transfers OUT of E-6's??? most guys want IN.

I already know that I am going to love the E-6, the community and the mission. I dont necessarily want to transition as much as I want the opportunity to fly as many naval aircraft as I possibly can. That said I am really interested in TPS.
