My old man is a O6 in the CG, has his own Gold Wings, based out here and Peterson AFB, he "dipped into the blue" as my brother calls it and remarried to a AF O6.

Anyways the point of the story is that I my step mom planned General Hinton's retirement ceremony last friday and I got to go to it. He's a old BUFF pilot, and a 3 Star. While he was giving his farewell speech a F-14 blazed on over and flew the break right there at Colorado Springs. All the AF guys I was sitting with were all disgruntled about "those damn Navy guys!" Apparently the F-14 crew had arrived a hour early. To top it off about five minutes later a F-18 did the same thing! HAHA me and my old man though it was great.

I also got to see a sweet flyover from a B-52. But man that F-14 was sweet. Not much Navy stuff here in Colorado.

Note: I've met alot of pilots who've direct-comissioned into the Coast Guard...but never one that left the CG for another service...

Makes one wonder.....
