Does anyone have a good copy of the T-6 for Microsoft Flight sim 200X? I had a sweet one, but my computer just sh!t the bed and now I can't find where I got it from. I found a few online, but they pale in comparison to the one I had. Thanks!

I would like to know where to get one as well. Try to practice doing flights or whatever before actually performing them in the real thing. It does not matter how close (or not close) it really is. The concepts should all be the same.

yeah, you're totally right, and I had that written down ("contacts excepted")... dunno why I didn't leave that in there. Oh well.

It would still be cool anyways whether or not I will actually fly an actual T-6. I would never say to the instructor that "I could do something in a video game so why would it not work while actually flying".

Well, try your maneuvers in the sims before you go to contacts. Just don't waste your time with the spin...doesn't really work in the sim.

And you can fly the plane after contacts. For example...your instructor suddenly has a case of the hurls and you notice his helmet go from above shoulder level to suddenly below knee level. Hehehehe. Oh yeah, I got some stick time in instruments, baby! And I got out of doing my 2 minute call and my eta. I won't even go into how far off we were...I put it down to my stick skills and not maintaining heading (I just told him I wasn't able to maintain heading very well...even though he had the plane trimmed up perfectly). :D

try the website www.simviation.com it features a lot of freeware that you can download. The aircraft are all mods put together by users and posted on the site, but they all work, I am sure they have a T-6 somewhere if you search through the files.

yeah, that's the junk one. I put my computer into the shop and the guy says he can fix it. If I get my version back I will post it so you can see the difference.

Yep, some instructors will let you fly after contacts...not the whole flight, but I managed to fly alot on cross countries, some on VNAVs, and even took an ILS down to decision height once (albiet shakily).

I know the pilots are rolling their eyes at that last part, but that's a major accomplishment for an NFO ;)

If you ever find the one you had, give me a shout i wouldn't mind trying a better one than this.
