Here's the situation:

The ex-wife was just in a motorcycle accident this Sunday. She was medivac'ed to the local hospital some 40 miles away.

Here's a link:
http://www.10news.com/news/14688065/detail.html

AFAIK she has just come out of surgery to repair a shattered wrist. She's apparently broken both wrists, her pelvis, and probably a few other things. I've not spoken with her yet, just heard things secondhand.

I would like to start a fundraiser for whatever expenses she may accrue. She's in San Diego with two dogs. I'm on the other coast just getting ready to go on deployment. Any help would be appreciated. Will post more information as I get it. Right now the nurse at the hospital hasn't even returned my phone call. It's 3AM and I've not heard anything.

If any mods can help or make a sticky please email/PM me.

She was an avid poster on AW. I don't know if she's posted too much since we're no longer together.

She's still got tricare for medical (to run out in February), but has no disability from work.

I dunno, maybe this can be moved elsewhere. It's been a long time since my last post. I'm getting ready to go on a SUSTAINEX and then a cruise shortly thereafter on the east coast, and she's still on the west.

I'm all over the place and rambling. Drop me a PM with any questions. Hell.

My thoughts and prayers for your wife.

I remember there was a website created for a college student fighting cancer. It had something like a paypal function which would allow for people to make monetary donations. I'm not sure if that's much help.

Best.

Good on you for posting the unfortunate incident. How about a username....easy to check with that (not that it matters for purposes of sympathy and hopes for a speedy recovery.

fsuchick. she used to linger on the private spouses area.

I spoke with her last night. My parents are flying down to San Diego from Montana to help her with part of the recovery. She's got my two dogs still in her care so that's a big deal. On top of that her job hangs in the balance. She won't really be able to use her hands for the next 3 months.

With the divorce ongoing, I'm paying out the nose as it is; If I could do anymore I would. Maybe my parents will put her in touch with NMCRS out there and they may be able to help with disability.

Does anyone know if Tricare has some sort of disability?

I'm with MB and Intruder on this one....however, for both of your sakes, I hope it all comes out well for you two.

So you're not divorced? Which makes you still on the hook for her, as in still married in the eyes of the law. Is that correct? Not being sarcastic here at all.

They will ask that if/when she seeks NMCRS funds and may not grant them on that basis.

They may ask if you are solvent with any cash reserves, if you are still her husband legally?

Good luck.
