and why Hanx is probably the greatest actor in our lifetime.
Tom is out in the Pacific right now filming a WWII destroyer movie with a project title "Greyhound." It is one of his productions so it should be quite good.

Intriguing. Tom Hanks can't make a bad movie and there are a lot tin can stories from the Pacific that could be made in to amazing movies. I for one would love to see an HBO miniseries based on hornfischer's books.

The release date for Bond #25 has been established: 08 November 2019. Also some rumors going around that this will be the last movie owned by the Broccoli family - they may want to cash out like George Lucas did with Disney and the new owners will be free to reinvent the character in whatever direction Hollywood may choose.

Maybe Jar Jar Binks will be the villain in Bond 26.

Happened to see that the next James Bond movie (scheduled for November 2019) has been pushed back. Also mentioned was that Solden, Austria (where part of Spectre was filmed) will be opening a museum. Location is an hour or so east of Innsbruck. Beautiful countryside - thought some people might be interested if they are going skiing in that area.

Looks like the first teaser trailer for the 25th James Bond movie is out - "No Time To Die" is now due out in April 2020.

Happened to see this at the same time: 1917 directed by Sam Mendes is due out this December - looks promising.

I'm a big fan of WWI history and nonfiction and now I'm kinda curious how this 1917 historical fiction turns out. (Doesn't seem like enough mud in the battle scenes of the trailer.)

I'm also a WWI buff and am excited about 1917. There seems to be a dearth of good WWI movies that focus on the war and not use the war as a backdrop. Although I did enjoy Beneath Hill 60.

As to the mud i'm guessing this movie will take place on the southern end of the British sector closer to the Somme due to the white chalk trenches. Although no trench was comfortable I think the Flanders battlefields had the most mud to the water table being so close to the surface. I don't think that areas to the south of Flanders were as wet; for instance, Cambrai was chosen as the location to launch the first massed tank assault due to the dryer conditions in the area as opposed to the mud pit that was the shell churned ground around the Ypres salient.
