SPECTRE trailer is out

For those of you who like the Jame Bond movies, the trailer for this year's SPECTRE is out. Rather rough airplane landings (Dash-8 ?), helicopter porn and another magnificent Aston Martin.

For my money, the best Bond movie was Casino Royale (we just stayed at that hotel last month in Karlovy Vary) and the hottest Bond girls were a tie between Eva Green and Sophie Marceau. Opinions?

I think Skyfall was probably my favorite overall, and that's including the classics, but GoldenEye deserves an honorable mention. As for the car, you can't beat the original Aston Martin DB5 but Casino Royale's AM DBS is a close second. And for the Bond girl, I always liked Caterina Murino (Eva Green is pretty close) or Berennice Marlohe. What can I say, the guy lives a good life.

Monica Bellucci....sorry, I have to collect myself. Oh, and Honor Blackman whose character's name will remain forever awesome.

Goldfinger. That's really what set the franchise on fire and even today, it's a good watch. I really like what they did with Casino Royale and Skyfall (although I think Skyfall was about 15 minutes too long), but I think why everyone raves about CR is because the previous several Bond movies were so disappointing (Sophie Marceau notwithstanding).

I agree about Goldfinger, it did set the standard, "Nooo Mr Bond, I expect you to die." Favorite scene came from You Only Live Twice with the Phrog using a electromagnet to dispose of an auto.

The tank driving through St. Petersburg in Goldeneye was a close 2nd.

Back to aviation please. The airplane is a Britten-Norman Islander. Not many seen over here in the colonies, but a fine airplane.

Hervé Villechaize died in 1993. And yet, I'm mostly impressed with the ad.

Looks like SPECTRE will be a good one - making lots of money in Europe and getting great reviews.

As for other movies playing right now, both "The Martian" and "Bridge of Spies" were outstanding. Get a big bucket of popcorn because you will not move for 2 hours, especially the latter as it is a true story. Still amazed how Tom Hanks went from "Bachelor Party" to becoming the greatest actor of our generation.

I completely agree with both those movie recommendations. The Martian and Bridge of Spies were the only movies I have gone to in the past 4 years. But wow!

Tom Hanks has transformed into this. BTW, this scene was filmed with a real Navy Corpsman.

And no real script, just "do what you would normally do and I'll react." Probably the best scene in the movie because of that.

Just got back from SPECTRE. Good movie, although it felt like a rehash of all the Sean Connery movies combined and then updated. Not as good as SkyFall or Casino Royale but better than Quantum of Solace. Horrible opening theme by Sam Smith (they should have paid Adele whatever she wanted to do another one) but a fantastic helicopter scene to begin with in a BO 105. Hulking Dave Bautista channels the indestructible tough guy Oddjob. Beautiful Aston Martin DB-10 but old school even better, Aston DB-5. Movie well worth seeing, especially Lea Seydoux and her walk.....

Big fan of the new "Bond Girl;" My favorite since Casino Royale and Eva Green. I enjoyed all the throwbacks: Dr No, Casino Royale, Goldfinger, From Russia with Love, Live and Let Die, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and even a little Moonraker. Of the Daniel Craig era, I'd rank them in the following order: Casino Royale, Spectre, SkyFall, and Quantum of Solace.
