I'm trying to get the necessary paperwork done but I need help on this...
My mom was born in Canada, both her parents were U.S. citizens, so she has dual citizenship. She doesn't have any of the paperwork that the SF-86 asks for, so I put down her SSN, but was told that isn't good enough. I also need her Canadian citizenship number (whatever the equivelant to a U.S. SSN is), but she doesnt know it. When she moved here she was young so it's not like she remembers what happend, and both her parents are dead so she cant get any help elsewhere.
She told me she would contact an immigration and naturalization attorney, but if there is something missing that I can do that would save her the time and money then I need to do it.
I recommended that she contact the local Canadian embassy.
Thanks
Summary: mom born abroad to US parents, doesnt have any paperwork needed for the SF-86, what do I do?
