Today I came across something interesting and terrible: The USS Texas, a part of our history for more than 100 years, is on the road to be scrapped. She's currently a museum ship in the state she was named for. Through the years, weather and time have not been kind to her, and she's been gradually rusting at her berth, slowly sinking. Because of this, the state is considering scrapping our last dreadnought battleship.
As someone who cares about naval history and the history of our nation, I can't stand by and I can't stress how important this ship is. Others like me down in Texas feel the same, and a petition has begun to get the state to consider giving her a permanent dry berthing. In short, it's an effort to save our history by saving the USS Texas. Now due to the site rules, I can't and won't ask you to donate or petition This is just to inform, but for those with an interest in history and the Navy, it's strongly encouraged to help out however you can, even if it's just with a click or two to spread the news.
Here's the link for their main page: https://www.comeandsaveit.com/#petition
Thank you all for listening.
