RIP Randall “Duke” Cunningham

Vietnam War F-4 Phantom ace Duke Cunningham passed away on August 27th. With his RIO, William Driscoll, he shot down both MiG-21’s and MIG-17’s. After he retired from the Navy on 1987 he ran for Congress and ran into trouble for some shady dealings and spent some time incarcerated.

I remember being really disappointed in the conviction. Despite that, he definitely grabbed my attention as an ace in an F-4, and I’ll always respect that accomplishment.
