My husband and I were recently stationed at NAS Corpus Christi for UPT training for the United States Air Force. We came across BAY AREA RENTAL MANEGEMENT, & more specifically LINDA DORSEY. She half-heartedly helped us look for rental properties. Being new to the area, we trusted her, took her advice and decided to rent one of her properties. At that time we notified her and her associate TAFFY that we had another roommate who would arrive in town later that month and be living with us throughout the duration. They told us we would not have to put him on the lease because that would require us to pay another application fee. At the time we simply took this as a friendly gesture. We gave our security deposit and lived in the property for the next seven months. Throughout our stay we had many troubles with our property, and found it more of an inconvenience for Linda to get the proper maintenance people out to fix things. Thus, lived in various states of chaos.
As graduation approached, we notified BAY AREA RENTAL MANAGEMENT or B.A.R.M. a month and a half in advance that we had orders to leave Corpus Christi, and that we would not be renting beyond June 8th 2008. At this time we were told that we had to pay for the entire month of June and they would let us out of our lease. We reluctantly agreed even though such reputable companies on the island such as MADISON BEACH CLUB or CENTURY 21 will pro-rate your month. B.A.R.M told us that they had a month to get us our deposit of approximately back $1100 back. It is now August 2008 and we have received a letter from B.A.R.M. notifying us that they will not return our deposit because we sub-let (TO OUR ROOMMATE THAT THEY NEW ABOUT THE ENTIRE 7 MONTHS)!!! We now have an attorney to try and rectify this horrible act of BAD BUSINESS!!
BAY AREA RENTAL MANAGEMENT CLEARLY HAS NO RESPECT FOR MILITARY WHO ACQUIRE THEIR SERVICES, WHILE SERVING OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE BE WEARY OF THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!
