Reapply for Naval Aviator?

So I am curious and I hope that someone has had a similar situation as mine in the past:

Good News :)

My senior year of college 1.5 years ago, I took and got a good score on the ASTB, submitted an application packet to the review boards, was pro-rec'd and successfully passed most of the steps after including not just a preliminary bi but the full blown, very expensive variety.

Bad News :(

During my medical evaluation I submitted documents for the Navy to review upon review I was told I would need to see specialists regarding past medical issues (torn ACL, subdural hematoma) both of which were sustained in High School athletics. I was most worried about the ACL injury and the head injury was severe at the time but has had no long term effects. I saw the specialists which cost me another long day at MEPS, the ortho doc ran a few tests and gave me a good review and his blessing, the neurosurgeon said, and I loosely quote "This is ridiculous, you have no mental deficits and your history shows you have not had any issues, I am going to be thorough so this passes for waivers."

After passing the background check I was sure I would be in Newport in just a short matter of time. Then the news came that waivers would still not be granted.

Tthat date was approximately 1 year 3 months ago. My question is has any one been through something like this and how did it turn out for them?

Sorry this is so lengthy but it is something I have thought a lot about lately.
