Alright D.C. area warriors who live to ride/ ride to live....
whose up for doing this event with me?? I imagine it will be pretty cool riding your bike down the 12,000' runway at a major international airport.
If you are a motorcycle rider and enjoy the company of other riders, you don’t want to miss this event. It’s a truly unusual and privileged ride that takes place at Washington Dulles International Airport. Our Country came under attack on the morning of September 11, 2001 when four separate flights were hijacked resulting in all four aircrafts not reaching their intended destination. These were just some of the heinous acts of terrorism that took place that day. This commemorative ride allows us to show our patriotism by remembering the Heroes whose lives were taken on that fateful day. We hope you will take this one day of the year to join us for a meaningful, worthwhile and exciting ride as we Rattle the Runway at Dulles Airport. We will be staging in the rear of the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for our opening ceremonies. After a police-escorted ride from Dulles Airport down to the Pentagon, closing ceremonies will take place in the North Parking Lot at the Pentagon off of Boundary Channel Drive. Motorcycle staging at the Opening Ceremonies location at the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center will take place from 8:00am to 10:45am. The actual Opening Ceremonies will start at 9:00am. This is an event open to all motorcyclists, and all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome. You do NOT need to register just show up!
