Random OCS question

Just a random question that came into my head for anyone who's been through OCS. Is it still a custom when you graduate to give a silver dollar to the first person to salute you (kind of like at the end of an officer and a gentleman). I'm not sure if that's exactly how the whole thing worked but an officer I knew a long time ago happened to mention it to me. I was just kind of curious

Yes it is tradition upon comissioning to give the first military person of junior rank a silver dollar.

I haven't been thru it yet.. but for some reason i think at the end of ocs you give one to your DI and class chief. i'm not sure where i heard that tho.
