I am bidding on a set of new H10-76 ears on eBay. They apparently are standard issue. One of the features is that they're low impedence for use with military radios. Two questions:

1) Do they still fit into the comm on civilian radios?
2) Are they a good piece of gear?

Thanks in advance. My auction ends soon, so if the answer to question 1 is no then I may soon have a nice new set of David Clarks for sale for you guys.

H10-76 is a good headset. After we got to Iraq, my squadron had the duckets to buy them for ICS cranials. Few favors here and there, and I now have two. To answer your questions:

1. Yup - they come with civilian plug. Our Avi/Flight E guys converted the ones we got.

2. Yup - No complaints using it in GA. As a matter of fact, I really like them...

I thought you had to swap either the mic or use a plug adapter on the H10-76's since they are low impedance and civilian aircraft are higher impedance?

Either way, I've used them and they are quite comfortable.

Hell yeah! They're $240 on Marv Golden and I just got them for $96. If they don't fit the Cessna I still got a friggin deal as long they're not fake or broken.

It's looking like they might have a low impedence plug on them. The adapter is another 50 bucks, but I'm okay with that.

I'm not sure what AVI/FlightE did. I think just a plug adapter... Again - that's outside my realm, I just know they made them work.

I tried a bunch of headsets, and I have to say that DC is my favorite. There's a reason they've been around for so long, and are so successful...

Dude, you got ripped off! Just kidding, great deal! Can't beat mine though - 2 headsets for a 12 pack and a keg party, respectively...

Hmmm. Wonder if I can make a drug deal here at NAS Atlanta to get the mod done without the prior mentioned FWA police being called. Anybody know somebody?

Just bum around a squadron and get to know some of the guys... Take them drinking... Then after you're good buds - show up with some beer and a headset. Many heads turn when beer is involved ;)

Sorry for the ressurect here guys...looking at a headset both for my GA use and also on the Warpig. I've read through the couple threads on here and am leaning towards one of the David Clark ENC sets. I realize I will need an adapter for the P-3 but any other gotchas that I should be aware of?

Cheers
