Success!!

I'd like to thank D_Rob for his encouragement and the Navy for giving me a 24 hour watch period. Thanks so much.

damn. that needs to be fixed. btw, please tell me you're on duty, as i am, or something... because otherwise that means that we've pretty much threadjacked this thing to talk about crashing imaginary planes in our free time...

Yes I am on duty and yes I am very happy that your were able to kill hundreds of imaginary people. And what if I normally talk about crashing imaginary planes in my free time?

I got my azz kicked at O'Hare, but I am doing pretty good in St. Louis, good runways and a good amount of traffic - not too much, not too little.

Phx sucks, 3 runways, all nearly parallel along the same headings

And what if I normally talk about crashing imaginary planes in my free time?

You get put on the DHS no-fly list?

Edit: I had a plane take off at the same time a plane was landing on the opposite end of the same runway and they passed in the middle - no crash. Also I am pretty sure all the pilots hate me because I stopped worrying about the wind direction and started landing them wherever it is most convenient.

This may be a dumb question, but don't airports usually have preassigned holding patterns?

In this game (pretty fun BTW) you have to micromanage all the aircraft, but I thought in real life they all entered standardized holding patterns. (Obviously WRT the wind direction).

Hopefully I am not sounding too ridiculously ignorant of aviation.

You are correct. There are holding patterns assigned to different fixes. If there are not, it is the controller's responsibility to provide you with holding altitude, direction of turns, radials of holding and minutes or miles of legs. This game is pretty fun - the great part is there's a reset button! :) This directly from a controller...

So which option allows you to reset the GCA glidepath to give me a PAR to downtown Bishop.

(K-Rock approach trying to kill me coming back from the NOG in crap Wx)

:icon_rageWell..I successfully worked 45 minutes of traffic at O'Hare without any two planes getting within three miles of each other (at the same altitude)!!:icon_rage

Easy there MasterB! Kingsville Approach doesn't have to do anything at all for NOG FCLPers to kill themselves enroute to NQI.

NQI Approach: Kingsville's IMC say intentions.
FCLPer: I'll take vectors for the overhead.
NQI Approach: Unable, the field is IMC say intentions.
FCLPer: Roger, I'll take high key.
NQI Approach: Unable, try again.
FCLPer: Ok, ummm...standby...I'll take the Straight In PA then.

Sometimes just gives us a reason to give you a GCA into Bishop :)

Congrats on the winging a couple of weeks ago by the way!
