PRT and Supply Corps math requirement question

Hello all,

I am very close to finishing my package to submit for OCS and had a few questions.

1. Per PA 102, there is an requirement to have two college level math

courses in the transcript. Does a statistics course count as one of college

level math courses?

2. I have scored an Excellent on Cycle 1 2021. However, there have been two

previous cycles of excused PRT due to COVID-19, and Cycle 2 2019 with a

Satisfactory High score. Even though there have been 2 excused cycles in

between, do I still need to request for a PRT waiver?

Thank you all!

I would say it depends on which type and how your college labeled it because for me statistics is labeled as MAT-201 which means it’s a math class. But I’ve seen them not labeled as such.
For the PRT portion I was told by Mr. Celestin to annotate “COVID-19” in each spot so I didn’t require a waiver . You should be good, if not you’ll know from him.

Like was said above it depends on a few things, does your school label it as a math class as many do not. The other thing is if the board looks specifically for math classes and if they see statistics will they consider it a math class even if it is labeled as a math class.

I've had the same question about the SC math requirement. My undergrad institution required every student to take two "Quantitative Reasoning" courses that employed math or were math-based in their methods, but the classes did not have to be Math Department courses. I fulfilled the university's Quant requirements with a Statistics class and an Atmospheric Science class. When I asked my OR about the SC math req, he said "I think you still qualify." Honestly though, I'm still unsure.

I should add it is also the PM that will look for the 2 math classes.
