Problems with the forum

I wasn't sure where to put this, but it pertains to the board which pertains to aviation and Misc. fits. Since the board came back online I've been having a bit of a problem picking up new posts. In fact, my computer thinks that there have been zero new posts since the forum came back. Do any of you who are smarter with these damned machines have any suggestions? I wish they had the internet on typewriters...at least I can fix those when they break. :(

Your computer is broke. You'll need to buy a new one ASAP.

Most likely you are looking at old pages that are stored on your computer. If "refresh" show the new pages, that is the problem. Make sure your internet settings is set to automatically check for newer pages.

What operating system are you running?

Also, go into Tools--->Internet Options---->and clear your history and cookies.

Note: this is assuming you are using Internet Explorer.

Oh, awesome. This thing aped my post. Great. Well, clearing the history sort of worked, it registered a couple new posts and then refused to load the page entirely. I hate this machine and she knows it. I'm using XP and yes, I'm stuck with IE.

I tried Mozilla .... it stuttered, farted, and crapped out. Back to Bill Gates and IE until something better rears its ugly head ..........

The pain train's coming! WOO WOO!!!
for those of you who care and dont like ie or firefox (which ive found claims that espn/reuters/hotmail.com dont exist more often than i can tolerate), opera is a good free alternative. heres the description of the browser for windows, http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/ , and theres a mac section as well for those who are a little ahead of the curve. microsofts switch to amd is going to come back to haunt them.... but anyway, its fast, easy on the eye, and has those tabbed windows and all that other jazz you firefox guys love. just thought id mention it :) <-----homage to a4s

And another problem, what's up with the smilies?

there are three or four with the same name "icon_smil" and the "propeller" gives you a stickyoutytongue smiley with ropeller after it:
