Next spring?!?!

Well, while I applaud the fact that you are thinking ahead, seriously, there isn't anything you can do right now that will impact your training next spring.... except of course, enjoy your time off??? (do you Marines have time off around TBS?). Post API, you will have plenty of time to get up to speed with your buds that are ahead of you. Right now, there are just too many hurdles between the Primary syllabus and where you are currently at. There should be the Marine RedRocket gouge floating around, I do not know if it is up to date, but I found in training that the Marines actually had way too much stash time and put together some pretty good gouge packets (but hey, times change)!

Anyways, congrats, and best of luck in training.

To go flight-by-flight, I recommend Gerber Gouge; however, the systems, limitations, and EPs are far more important than the conduct of the flight. Focus on those AFTER API.

He's def the man. One smart mofo, a good guy, and one hell of a VFA pilot to boot. Deserves to get all the credit people give him.

Gerber gouge is great. Some of the best thought out gouge out there. At times it's outdated, but you should always be cross checking your gouge with your pubs anyways. You know what they say about living by the gouge...

Which is why I don't condone studying gouge, or anything for that matter, until you at least get your pubs. As stated before, have a beer instead.

Also, Brimble tends to have more recent gouge, but is less all inclusive (makes you look more stuff up on your own), but again, you should be doing that anyways. Instructors know when you've only read the gouge, because most likely they have too, and procedures change.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I have a couple buds already down there and they are still waiting to start. I'll keep my ears open. Your going to have to help me with one thing; why is it called gouge? If that didnt make me sound painfully new to this process.

Why is it cool to see two chicks making out? It's just the way it is.
