Probably why NFOs always gave a bit more thought to the whole pre-cruise and mid-cruise "We're doing a new crew-up selection…gimme you top 3 choices of who you'd like to fly with…and your 1 choice of "hell NO!" "

Call it a nest egg for future use. From all of the above responses, sounds like it's genuine and earned. But I'd still recommend showing a bit of personal restraint for the near future and leave it alone until you KNOW…for SURE…that it's all copacetic. Then use it to partially pay college loans, or credit card debt, or whatever. Party time will come later…many times.

It's hers, several years ago the CEC community started doing what the nuke community does, paying their prospective officers from the day they swear in, so they essentially made all CEC selections collegiate selections, prevents their selections from being poached.
