Political Parties as a Naval Officer Question

I'm generally in line with conservative-moderate-Republican views and decided to register with the Republican Party, but wasn't sure if most or many officers/officer candidates are registered with a party. I'm soon to be a MIDN and just wanted to double check with you all. I mean, I know I can't go to political rallies/events in uniform or anything, but is it common practice to be registered with a party, or is it kind of looked down upon by those in the Navy? Just would like some opinions on the topic.

No. You are a citizen of this country. Choose whatever party you want (I would recommend against the Anarchist, Socialist, and Communist parties though...)

Most officers I know or have known --- vote .... it's just that most don't talk about it. There's a lesson there ...... unlike the "seamier" side of Air Warriors forum, one of the time-tested cardinal rules of the Ready Room or wardroom is to leave discussions of women, politics, and religion outside .....

These are exclusive. You can't be fairly conservative and be "in the middle". Either be in the middle and maybe lean conservative, or be conservative. Pick one. :icon_tong
