Pentagon Chooses Two Companies to Build Flying Humvee

...because once this contraption gets airborne, it can magically fly above all known threats. ASE? We don't need no stinkin' ASE.
 
I actually heard DeLorean was trying to get in on this as well. Word is DARPA eliminated their design because it required so much energy, somewhere in the ballpark of 1.21 jigga [sic] watts.

I wonder who the Army is planning on flying/ driving these things. More Navy 1310 IA billets perhaps?
 
Since DARPA has about a 98% failure rate for most of the stuff they investigate, I wouldn't plan on seeing these anytime soon....


Then again, there is that 2%!!!
