Besides the basic 3.5% pay raise this year (up to 6.5% for some), the new BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) rates are out today.
Congress decided a few years ago to try to reduce the out of pocket expense for housing from 15% to 0 over a 5 year period. The first year was a 7.5% reduction, but this year was still 3.5% on top of the annual cost of housing increases.
For example: an E-6 with dependants in Norfolk will get $996 in 2004, up from $881 in 2003.
