Pax River - TAD need room to stay

I picked up TAD orders down in Pax with my lodging paid for. As of last week that was dropped and I am having to foot the bill. I called the BOQ and the best deal they could give me was $42 a night (way too costly). I am looking for someone who has a spare room to rent out for the month. I will be gone during the weekends.

I will be down there from 9FEB09 - 5MAR09

Any help or advice would be great.

Is not paying for lodging something new? Will you still get Per Diem while you are TAD? If not, request to cancel the TAD orders.

He's probably on No Cost orders, which means no Per Diem.

Call the squadron and talk to OPS. If they really need/want you, they will find a way to make it work.

I took "Good Deal" no cost TAD orders to China Lake once. I was able to get a room and a car without paying a cent out of pocket.

As another suggestion: there's a decent, cheap MWR campground in that part of the world. . .

Yes, it is no cost TAD orders. The command at PAX offered to pick up my BOQ which was perfect but then lost funding at the last minute so I may have to cancel the TAD. I was just trying to do anything and everything to make it work. I am really wanting to get a feel for the T&E community and the TAD was with TPS so I figured it would be a great opportunity. It has just edged over my budget as I still have to pay rent at my current location.

I finally found an affordable place to stay. Its amazing what two straight days of google searching will get you besides insanity.
