I just got my ASTB scores today. I got a 6/6/7 which I wasn't too disappointed with considering my lack of studying. I have two questions: My OSO didn't tell me the bigger number (called the OAR???) because he said it doesn't matter for the Marine Corps. I had never heard this so I wanted some clarification. Also he said it's pretty much pass fail as far as scores go. When he told me the scores I was planning on retaking but he said I'm good to go since I passed. Any truth to this? thanks
 
According to my OSO, the OAR is not used for the Marine Corps, just the other 3 scores. Additionally, yes the test has moved to pass/fail so as long as you pass it, you are good to go. Congrats on the good score.
 
Concur, the astb is pass/fail now, I am curenty PTAD to an OSO and this is the case for our applicants.
 
The score may or may not be pass/fail, but no matter what, the board will see the score. If you're a rockstar they can't help but notice.
