Of course the reporter has to use some middle-school-worthy line about "lead pouring from the muzzle." It gives me visions of the bullets melting in the barrel and dribbling out the end. Not very intimidating. :icon_tong
Well.....that pretty much eliminated Navy SPECOPs from participating in the article.

He bitched about it before he left but I think he got pretty good at it pretty quick. He leans pretty heavy on Ma Duce for moral support anyways.
So what is up with this - where and why has the procurement system so royally f*cked this up?
When will folks on the line realistically be carrying this weapon (H and L variants aside)
I am not sure it is the procurement system, it might be the manufacturer in this case. From what I know, SOCOM can bypass much of the regular procurement process which makes me think is the the manufacturer. Though Zissou certainly knows more and can fill us in.
I have to be careful what I say regarding the SCAR and FN.
If anything comes rolling to FN it will come from the people I work with/for.
I dont want to have anything I say to reflect on my bosses.
I'm OK with saying "I dont really know why its taking so long" because its true. I dont really know, though we have many theories some involving Area-51 and the Unabomber.
And Im also disappointed. Everyone agrees on that one, especially the guys at FN who come stand before the old man every couple weeks then take us out to lunch. They tell us they're doing everything they can and since they buy me Rum Canonballs I tend to believe them.
Yes, SOCOM and its dubordinate commands get to spend money in fast and free ways but its really not that much. While handing an E-6 the AMEX card and sending him to REI with the orders "get what you guys need" may sound crazy its usually very cheap in comparison to other people's spending.
And there is FAR more paperwork on the back end. You might be able to run to REI and drop 8 grand but some poor 0-2 will spend three months putting it all in the system and accounting for it.
