our current INS system is pretty darn good. how good, you'd have to ask a nav. We have a nice GPS too, but we're not allowed to use it for primary navigation (though i've NEVER had it be wrong). We don't do an celestrial nav at all.

Personally, I just ask for vectors everywhere.

Yeah, and all of us folk driving around in motorcars are spoiled compared to those enjoying their horse driven cart. It's just progress, that's all ;)

The Prowler has a pretty sweet GPS/INS. I've only seen it get F'd up a couple times, then all you have to do is cycle power and it magically realigns itself inflight.

I actually did celestial heading shots for one det, the MC wanted them. I got pretty good at it, then never did them again after that. I don't know anyone else who did them, and that was '98.
