If they're using the standard NSS formula where you're compared with the last 60 days of studs who have selected, you'd need their grades and yours to come up with a good idea of where you stand. If not... well. Take zab's advice and talk to the STUCON officer. Or senior Air Force or whatever they have in VT-3.

Well, you had better hope that the math stacks up pretty good for you, because you sound like you have a long way to go as a professional officer. Bring that attitude to your fleet squadron, and see how long it takes for them to twist your little head off. You are lucky that they don't give an NSS for attitude, you would be way below the cut line.

You might want to keep your tone to a level that you would use face to face.

Actually I think this attitude is pretty consistent in the AF ACC communities. They think they're still in the age of knights and maidens, and that the world depends soley on their 'airpower'.

crateofthunder,

if you are in vt-3, just ask stucon. i finished from there recently and they told me my nss several times (even when i didnt want to know). if they seem reluctant just explain how you want to make sure you are doing okay. a buddy of mine didn't have any idea he was below a 30 nss until the end, so they began making sure you have an idea near the end.

Bevo and Brett... I dont think you can get mad at the guy (AF or not) for wanting a black and white answer. For those of you who have been there, done that, it is easy for you to give a counter-productive, sarcastic response (Brett) and he wanted to nip that in the bud before people started throwing all sorts of crap out there. If there is no answer to his question, then there is no answer, but if there is, help a guy out. off my soapbox

I am not mad at him for wanting a black and white answer. Hell, we all wanted to know how we were doing in the run up to selection. There is nothing wrong with that.

I do have a problem with his attitude, for pretty obvious reasons. He had better fix it, or he is going to have big problems later on.

Snacks

Everyone leave, I have to poop. NOW!!!
Can't we all just get along? :D

We AF guys are going to defend the AF, the Navy guys are going to defend the Navy, and the Marines are going to defend the Corps. It's like death and taxes, it's going to happen. How about we stop are b1tchin' here and go pick on the Army... :icon_tong

Enough w/ the AF bashing (well, at least in this thread). The answer to the original question is: There is no black or white answer. CrateofThunder, you already know it's a WAG, and perhaps for the AF, it may be a slightly more accurate WAG. Otherwise, as it was said, see STUCON and if you have other questions here, ask away.

Everyone else, he's got the point. Cease and desist unless you have something productive to add.
