I joined some friends last night at the NAS Oceane O'Club to have a few drinks. The airshow was going on so the place was packed and you always run into guys/gals you used to know. Anyway, there was a female Tomcat RIO there with probably one of the best callsigns I've heard in a long time....SUMAT. Translation, Shut-Up Men Are Talking. Now that's a callsign

There was a female F-15 pilot at Eglin with the callsign "Cans." Apparently the protective areas under the 2 exhausts are called cans and designed to protect against overrotation on takeoff and landing. Well, on her first landing at Eglin she overrotated and slammed them against the runway. Not as good as SUMAT, but I thought it was funny.

I have heard of a female with the callsign Toro. Her husbands callsign was Leaf. Supposedly they were referring to a Toro brand leaf blower.

Hey! I am new to this board, but thought everyone might enjoy a callsign I saw down in Tucson, Arizona. A female F-16 pilot with the ANG unit there had the callsign "Mounds." The reason was because Almond Joys have nuts...Mounds don't. Names like these are becoming less frequent with the politically correct military though.
