his was going around back in Aug 05. I went to a 6-week PME and the first day, this guy walks into my flight's classroom and immediately I recognized him but didn't say anything because I intended to observe him. About halfway through the first day someone said "don't I know you from somewhere?" Then the story came out... the most classic comment came about 2 weeks in when some other LT from another flight came in and said "Hey, I work at the Pentagon - all the top brass know who you are!"

I'm suspicious of the veracity of the original prank, but if true, it's pretty good.

Did the poor kid just give blood that day or something? He has the little sniffle bandage on his left arm. Maybe we can chalk it up to loss of blood. Or, maybe he is an example of what the AF has to offer in the 2d Lt club.

It's true. The guy confirmed it, and even tried to explain why he was dumb enough to fall for it, saying that when he was in ROTC he never paid attention to active duty ribbons as he was more busy being a computer science major, so he took a "whatever" approach to the whole thing. The award was first worn at a commander's call, then the Lt Col kept glancing over at this LT's ribbons afterward, and said "What the fvck is that?!", followed by laughter from the pranksters and many others observing

How the hell did they get into that computer system thing? If true, that is good...
