My SO was in a hit and run today and I just thought I would let everyone know how great USAA has been. I know there are some people wondering who to go with regarding insurance.

Well, first they lowered the deductible to $200 since it was a H&R. Then they let me add rental reimbursement after the accident to cover our rental expenses. For $600 rental coverage it's $5.00 per vehicle every 6 months and for $900 it's $11.17 per vehicle per 6 months. All we have to pay for is gas. They were plugging it all into the computer and before we got off the phone Enterprise was calling on the other line to help us with the rental.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

And if anyone else wonders what kind of services USAA has, I have their platinum Mastercard and my APR is 6.50%. More viking/barbarian/ghost slaying power than Capital One.

That is weird... my car was hit and run today too. USAA again is taking care of me. Though.... gagirl, check your state laws. I have comprehensive with a 500 deduct, but my state law says 250 max on "uninsured" motorists. So I'm getting hooked up; and my state law says you get a rental even if it isn't in your policy.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check on the rental thing. If the car is salvageable we may need a rental for awhile. Of course the car is getting ready to be paid off and b/c of a bunch of delinquent idiots we're going to have to fork out all this money and possibly buy a new car. I'm sure USAA will help with that too. Wasn't that crazy of me to think we could have a car that is paid off? What was I thinking? I just hope our insurance doesn't go up to high. Not holding my breath on that one.

VetteMuscle427- I can't beleive you were in a H&R too. it's just wrong and nothing but a pain in the a$$.

Its killing me... my car is brand new.... Imagine what I thought, come out on a bright sunny day, king of the world, about to go flying...

It was only 1200 in damage, but still, the point is... they're lucky I wasn't awake.

Also, I dont believe that USAA raises rates. They didn't for me atleast. Cause I told them I'd pay for it myself if they were gonna raise my rates.

its like john travolta said in Pulp Fiction... "It'd have been worth it if i had caught them doing it."

Its a good thing I didn't... not with firearms laying around here. My roommates and I would have formed a posse.

We have had USAA for years ...my whole family bc my dad is ex military. When I was old enough to get my own insurance and all, I kept them. We have bought two homes through them, all insurances (home, renters, life, car) and banking. They are the BEST and so easy to work with!
