New JCS Photo?

Appears to be a sharp rejoinder for the recent SAM 28000 photo debacle. According to his title, Gen Schwartz seems to be just a "General" officer.;):D

Is that a doctored version of the official photo? Kinda strange he is standing so far apart?

The reflection on the table seems to show that it was doctored.

What wasn't doctored is how goofy ol' Norty looks...like a senior citizen version of Spock.

Spock + Grimace or Barney.....
Maybe he's a stone cold killer...but he sure wouldn't appear to be one at first glance.

I note GEN Casey is rockin' the Army Blues.

Also from looking at the JCS website, ADM Mullen is still hittin' the town in SDK's. What's the current deal with those? Are they still on, or will this go away once he retires?

There was a Navy Time article a while back (maybe 1-2 years ago?) saying that uniform was going through tests. Besides that, I'm not sure what the future status of the uniform is.

I had read on the Navy.mil website sometime last fall that the SDK wear test had been a success but that an alternate (slightly altered test version) was going to be tested for a few months to make sure that all the kinks were worked out before they were accepted by the Uniform Board and then hit the fleet.

There were also some pictures of MCPON and ADM Roughead wearing SDK.

Do we like this uniform? I think that if they're going for throwback they're certainly succeeding, but I'm not 100% sure that it's a good call to bring it back.

I mean, if they're going to do that they should let us keep our AWGs! Let the SDKs be SWO-specific. Subs can have their own uniform too if they want.

I love them. From my point of view there is no reason why SDK should be SWO-specific. There are plenty of pictures of Halsey wearing SDKs.

SDK's are classic and look sweet, IMO. 90% of why I want to join the Navy of course!

Last mention I could find was a May '08 Navy Times article announcing Fleet wear tests.

Hopefully if they do bring back the SDK's it won't be the Mk. 2 "revised" version - that was a "slicked" version without the big pockets...pretty much looked like brown SDB's, not very old-school at all and pretty much looked like the uniform of some shitty Third World airline.
