Hey all,

I'm interested in buying a new hand gun and wanted some input.

Right now I own:

H&K USP 9mm (favorite so far)
Sig p226 .40
Kimber target II .45

Dont really have any specific criteria for my next purchase... just looking for something fun and enjoyable to shoot i guess. Very open to suggestions.

Thanks guys,

-jP

Dude, you are lacking the basics. Everyone should have a rifle, pistol, and shotgun. After you cover the basics, expand from there.

However, if you're stuck on a handgun, recommend a wheelgun of some sorts. My Ruger GP-100 4" stainless .357 Magnum is a pure joy to shoot. You can put .38 Special through it if you want, or shoot full power .357 Magnum loads, whatever suits your fancy.

Well then, good choices. You're cleared to buy a handgun then ;)

But yeah, you're missing a wheelgun. Check out Ruger and S&W products. S&W may not always make the best autos, but they still make fine revolvers.

Get a ruger MK II or a Walther P-22. They're a blast to plink with and you can shoot all day for the price of a 20 oz bottle of coke.

As an added benefit, shooting more will make you better with your other guns. They also sound "movie quiet" when silenced...

Quieter than movie-quiet if using sub-sonic ammo :)

I was thinking about buying a H&K USP 9mm. How well do you like yours? Any recommendations or warnings? Have you ever fired the compact version?

Hey Fly, do you know if the CA military exemption permit for importation of ARs applies to being able to buy new ones? Seems like if it lets you bring ones in from out of state, that you could buy one in, say, NV or AZ and bring it in legally. I've been wanting an AR-15 variant for a while, so I might have to look into that.

Well, I'm not too sure yet if you can add-on to the permit once you have it... I THINK you can. So, if you're a resident of another state, technically you can still buy firearms there... so you should be able to import them. However, just going across any state line to buy a rifle would not work I don't believe. Hmm, confusing. Might be worth calling CA DOJ about...

You can always let me hang on to it for you right across the border in the free state of AZ. It'll be safe in a climate controlled safe. :D

Will there be a complementary beverage service? ;)
