I got the Creative Nomad Muvo MP3 player today for christmas. I love it, and it's an awesome player. I go to plug it in the frontal USB port on my comp (Dell Dimension 4500) and my computer doesn't read it...

I started thinking, and I plugged it up in one of the USB ports on the back of the computer. It works, but that takes away from the whole "convenience" aspect of it. Any of you guys/gals have any help for me? I really need to get this fixed, because I can't be getting on my hands and knees everytime to change a few songs. Any help on what I should do? Thanks in advance.

Oh the inconveniences of 'stolen' music...lol.

Obvious first fix...does anything else work plugged into the port? Could the port be bad itself or not configured?

Quick FIX: Buy a USB extension cable or USB hub that's easily accessible!

so I'd buy the extension cable and plug it into the back, but the extension would make it long enough to come around to the front?

Been there, (PNS) Done that.
if your technically inclined, you could open that thing up and see if they forgot to plug in the front usb ports. Wouldn't be the first time i've heard that happening.

check your device manager and make sure the driver is installed correctly. If it is unistall the usb drivers and reinstall them.

Yep...I got onw with my USB jump drive and I leave it plugged in. The cable is long enough so I don't have to fiddle with the back of the computer when I want to plug in my Jump Drive.....Too easy!

I"ve had problems with the USB ports on my Dell too. Not really sure why, your best bet is just to plug in into another port, or call Dell and see what they say.

I ended up taking the player I got for Christmas back, and replacing it with another brand. I got one that had better features, and it works on the front USB port!
