Navy One, the S-3B Viking is going to the museum in Pcola. It will be the first War Hoover to actually be retired as part of the Viking sundown. Too bad they are going away. The Viking actually got much more capable as the years went by and is now one of the most versatile aircraft in the carrier wing. For you guys in the strike pipeline, pilot and NFO, Capt Kelly, Wing Commander, sez crews will still be sent to Vikings for some time to come. You could do alot worse.

To this very day!! You can add nightly beer envy, female availability (guess that doesn't apply anymore), being able to take a leak on a mission, let alone sleep on a mission, loss of BAQ...

As for taking a leak on a mission, yesterday the 3P and the OPSO both made the mistake of entering the head while I was at the controls, my leg got a little spastic, and the plane experienced some yawing, throwing around the person in the head.... of course, I had the aft observers checking in and telling me when they entered, and everyone down the tube was looking at the back of the plane to watch them step out... I claimed it was an autopilot transient, but the OPSO didn't believe me, guess I am stuck with CDO for the week!!! lol

The 3p and the OPSO where in the head at the same time? What kind of outfit are you in? I must be an old salt. That just doesn't seem right. I won't even ask their respective gender. Nothing would surprise me. It is a VP squadron afterall.
