Check out the ASTB thread, tons of great info on there. If you’re shooting for SNA, the biggest advice would be to get a stick and throttle to use on Jantzen sim.

Use the search function to find the ASTB forum. There’s an entire section dedicated to the exam including tips, lessons learned etc.

Similarly, use the search function to find the aviation OCS forums to see what’s considered competitive.
