Anyone know what the Navy Flight Club is all about? I am in the BDCP, and won't go to OCS until August, but I have heard a little information about the Navy Flight Club. Can you get your Private Pilot's License thru the Flight Club? How about at the same time you are in flight school? I put this message here in the advanced Jets forum, because I thought maybe some of you were in the Navy Flight Club.

I don't have a PPL, but I definately plan on getting one during/after flight school. What are some of the rules on renting planes thru the Flight Club? Cost? Is there a limit where you can fly their planes? Availability? Offered at most Navy Air Bases? Throw as much info to me as you can about this. I haven't heard anyone on this website talk about the Navy Flight Clubs.

Here's a link to the Langley Aero Club site. I'm a member but haven't been able to do much flying with my wife off at OCS. Some of the dates in the library section might look old but it's still current info. Everything you need to know about Flying out of the club is in there. http://www.langleyaeroclub.org

I was also a member of the Whidbey Island Navy Flying Club way back in 1994-1996. http://www.galaxynet.com/~flyingclub. Navy clubs are very similar to the Air Force clubs regarding membership and SOP's. If you are in BDCP on active duty, you should be able to join any military flying club.

Here is another useful link for club locations. http://www.afsv.af.mil/Aero/Directory.htm

Thanks guys for all the info. I'll check out the websites. So, I guess there is a Navy Flight Club at just about all Air Stations; am I correct?
