I'm taking a technical communication class this semester and the final project is the writing of a mock proposal that will be reviewed and submitted. I have decided to do my proposal on the implementing of a crossflow program into the Airforce between heavies, fighters, and helos. Now I know this is primarily a Navy board, but I also know that the Navy has a very successful crossflow program currently implemented.

I'm looking for any and all details on how the crossflow system works, the requirements to crossflow between airframes and communities, the logisitcs, cost, and impact on experience in the Navy? Anything else that could be useful that I left out please feel free to add. I want any and all opinions on this one, so fire away.

Thanks,
R.S.

crosswha? who? where? What do you mean by crossflow system? IE changing airframes? Granted it happens once in a blue moon, but I would think there Air Force would be adept at that given that everyone drive jets there vice carrier props, landlubber props, and strike (jets). I'm lost.

he is talking about a program to allow pilots to switch airframes. Currently the AF has no such program other than the B2 and U2 programs and that is because those two are generally not first assignments.

Navy does have a program to allow pilots to go from helo to fixed (I don't know how often this occurs, but I know they do have it).

I'll let someone with more information answer this to anymore detail.
