NAPS age

I found out from my B&G Officer a few months ago that you can be 16 and go to NAPS--you don't have to be 17 as the website says. This was big news for me, esp. since I got it a few months too late. It turns out that as long as you're 21 when you get commissioned you're good to go.

If anyone else is in the same boat this should help a little.

The age limit for NAPS is "...no older than 23 on July 1st of the year entering the Academy."

Also, there were several people who graduated in my class that were under the age of 21, so I don't think that would be a factor either.

No the requirement is 17. You are not allowed to enlist at 16, and at 17 you must have a parent or legal guardian sign for you. Candidates straight out of high school enlist into a reserve navy contract to attend.
