I'm going to be staying at the vacation rentals on NAS Key West during my Thanksgiving break. I will also be having two family members staying with my wife and myself. My question is this:

Will my parents be able to get on post without me escorting them, or will I have to meet them at the gate every time to let them on.

On most Army installations, all you have to have is ID. In some instances registration and proof of insurance are required in order to get a guest pass for your vehicle. I know that FPCONs change all the time, and if there's a link to this information, I couldn't find it. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it very much!

Respectfully,

Boca Chica or Trumbo Point ??? I'm assuming Boca ... ???

You could always call 'em and ask 'em ... NAS KEY WEST telephone directory

Yeah, I'll probably do that tomorrow. It was after normal business hours, and my mother asked me. Being an Army guy, I thought that it would be the same, but I figured I'd hop on here and see if anyone knew off the top of their head (being stationed there, etc...). The vacation rentals are actually on Trumbo Point. (HERE) $65/night for a two bedroom furnished trailer isn't too bad, especially for Key West.

Anyway, I'll probably give them a call tomorrow if I don't hear from anyone on here tonight. Thank ya much!

Trumbo Point is mo' bettah' ... especially if you 'desire' a Key West 'experience' and easy access to Duval Street. Boca is where most of the ACDU people live and breathe ... it's NAVAIR ... but it's still 'neat'.

Just remember to take your 'keep the sun offa' me' ballcap OFF prior to entering the bar @ Trumbo VOQ ... I didn't ('cause I'd been in civvie-street for years) and I paid for it. But it was fun ... :)

Key West: it's a GREAT PLACE ... I wish I'd NEVER sold my townhouse @ Truman Annex ... enjoy it !!!

A very, very small 'heads-up' on how things are down there ... check out: Keys News

Usually you can get them added to a base access list. I had some friends and family members in town and they all wanted to come to base to play golf. I was working that day and was unable to join them, but I called security and got their names on an access list. They were able to get on board with no issues.

I did the same thing when I got a chance to fly in to Willow Grove, which is 15min from my folks' house. I called and got my dad added to the access list and he was able to meet me at the base of the tower.
